Chapter 3 - The Midnight Raid

The front courtyard erupted into chaos as dozens of federal marshals and tactical operatives in body armor flooded the granite colonnade. Julian dropped his champagne glass, the crystal shattering violently against the parquet floor as the red laser sights of tactical rifles swept through the ballroom windows.
“Security! Where are the perimeter guards?” Eleanor shrieked, scrambling to her feet as her manicured hands clawed at her throat. “Call the state police immediately; we are being invaded by armed terrorists!”
Julian rushed to the central security console by the library door, frantically entering his master administrative override code. The digital touchscreen flashed bright crimson, letting out three high-pitched error chimes: ACCESS DENIED - ADMINISTRATIVE CREDENTIALS PERMANENTLY REVOKED.
The heavy bronze front doors were breached with an industrial hydraulic ram, splintering the oak frame and slamming against the marble entryway with deafening force. A squad of twelve federal agents stepped into the grand foyer, their weapons raised in synchronized military formation.
Leading the federal phalanx was Lead Special Agent Marcus Reed of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, flanked by Charles and four senior forensic auditors. Agent Reed held a red-sealed federal warrant bearing the golden emblem of the United States District Court.

“Julian Vance and Eleanor Vance, keep your hands visible and step away from the furniture!” Agent Reed boomed across the grand hall. “This property is officially under federal seizure pursuant to United States District Court Warrant 9902!”
Julian puffed out his chest, attempting to rally his shattered arrogance as he stepped down the grand staircase. “Do you know who I am? I am Julian Sterling, the sole heir to this sixty-million-dollar estate, and you are trespassing on private family property!”
Charles stepped forward from behind the federal line, holding a thick leather folder bound in navy calfskin. “You are not a Sterling, Julian, and you have never owned a single square foot of the land beneath your feet.”
Bianca gasped, clutching Julian’s arm in sheer terror as she recognized the corporate emblem stamped across Charles’s files. “Charles, you work for our family trust! Why are you standing with these federal agents?”

“I have never worked for you, Miss Laurent,” Charles replied with razor-sharp contempt. “I work exclusively for the true owner of Sovereign Global Asset Group.”
The front entrance parted once more as the sleek black Maybach idled at the base of the marble steps. The rear door opened, and a woman stepped into the grand foyer wearing an impeccably tailored charcoal cashmere coat, exuding the untouchable power of a queen.
