Chapter 6 - The Interception at the Docks

The midnight fog rolled heavily across the dark waters of Boston Harbor, cloaking Pier 14 in dense, salty mist.
Three black tactical vans carrying eighteen of Dominic’s elite operators surrounded the corrugated steel warehouse near the water’s edge.
Inside the dimly lit structure, six mercenaries in tactical gear were frantically packing assault weapons and encrypted hard drives into wooden crates.
Standing near the loading bay was Captain Jackson, the ruthless commander of the Thorne syndicate’s private paramilitary unit.
“Senator Thorne confirmed the private helicopter touches down on the rooftop in fifteen minutes,” Jackson barked to his men.
“Load the server backups and burn the rest of the paperwork; we leave no digital footprint behind.”
Before the mercenaries could close the crates, the warehouse’s heavy industrial skylights were shattered by high-explosive breaching charges.
Glass and titanium shrapnel rained across the concrete floor as eight tactical operators rappelled down heavy ropes through the smoke.
Muzzle flashes illuminated the dark warehouse in blinding strobes of orange and crimson fire.
Dominic’s operators moved with brutal, synchronized military efficiency, neutralizing the perimeter guards within forty-five seconds.
Captain Jackson drew his sidearm, attempting to scramble toward a customized speed boat tied to the private dock.
A single, perfectly placed shot from Dominic’s rifle struck the concrete two inches before Jackson’s boots, showering his legs with pulverized stone.
Jackson froze, raising his trembling hands into the air as Dominic stepped out from the swirling smoke.
Dominic wore a dark tactical vest over his tailored shirt, his presence radiating the terrifying, absolute dominance of an executioner.
He walked slowly across the blood-stained floor, stopping two feet in front of the kneeling mercenary commander.
“Looking for your helicopter, Jackson?” Dominic asked, his voice low, smooth, and devoid of all human warmth.
“The pilot was detained by federal marshals twenty minutes ago at Logan International Airport.”
Jackson coughed, spitting a mouthful of blood onto the concrete as he glared up at the kingpin.
“You’re a dead man walking, Sterling!” Jackson sneered with dying defiance.
“Senator Thorne has three federal judges in his pocket; by noon today, your entire empire belongs to the Thorne family!”
Dominic reached down with his gloved hand, grabbing Jackson by the collar and dragging him toward the edge of the open dock.
He held the two-hundred-pound commander suspended over the freezing, churning black water of the harbor with one arm.
“Your senator couldn't even manage to kill a man at dinner, Jackson,” Dominic whispered into his ear.
“Now give me the encrypted passcodes to the offshore Cayman servers, or I will let you experience the exact same water Jonathan Montgomery drowned in ten years ago.”
Jackson’s face turned an ashen shade of chalk white as the freezing spray hit his face.
He broke down into frantic, breathless sobs, reciting the sixteen-digit decryption key before his knees could touch the water.
Dominic tossed the trembling traitor onto the wooden planks, turning to Leo with a curt nod.

“Bag the servers, secure the prisoner, and notify the federal prosecutor’s office.”
“The stage is set for the noon meeting.”
