Chapter 13 - A Mother’s Legacy Restored

The following weekend, Gabriel, Evelyn, and the boys traveled to a secluded, sunlit bluff overlooking the Atlantic Ocean in Newport, Rhode Island.

At the edge of the cliff stood a simple, elegant white marble memorial surrounded by blooming white roses and hydrangeas.

It was the true resting place of Genevieve Thorne.

Gabriel had avoided this sacred ground for four years, tortured by the false belief that his underworld enemies had taken his wife's life.

Now, knowing the truth and having brought full justice against Victoria and Julian, he could finally stand before her with peace in his soul.

Noah and Ethan carefully laid bouquets of fresh white lilies at the base of the monument.

“Hi, Mommy,” Ethan said softly, his small hand resting on the warm marble.

“We are healthy now.”

“Miss Evelyn took all the bad medicine away, and Daddy protects us every day.”

Noah looked up at the sky, a peaceful smile on his face.

“We know you’re watching us from Heaven, Mommy.”

“And we have a new mom who loves us very much too.”

Gabriel stepped forward, wrapping his arm around Evelyn’s shoulders as they stood side by side before the memorial.

“Thank you, Genevieve,” Gabriel whispered into the ocean breeze, letting go of the ancient grief that had chained his heart for so long.

“Thank you for giving me these two miraculous boys.”

“I promise you, they will grow up safe, loved, and surrounded by light.”

A gentle, warm sea breeze swept across the cliffside, rustling the petals of the white roses like a gentle, reassuring embrace from above.

Evelyn squeezed Gabriel’s hand, feeling the profound healing that had finally washed over the entire Thorne lineage.
