Chapter 15 - The Dynasty of Light

One year after the night beneath the freezing bridge, the grand Cathedral of the Holy Cross in downtown Boston was filled with thousands of cheering citizens, dignitaries, and global leaders.
The soaring stained-glass windows cast radiant beams of ruby and gold light across the historic nave.
At the front of the altar stood Silas Mercer, looking magnificent in an ivory and gold ceremonial tuxedo, his eyes fixed on the grand oak doors at the back of the cathedral.
The organ swelled into a triumphant, majestic processional hymn.
The heavy bronze doors opened.
I walked down the long velvet aisle on the arm of Governor Bradford, wearing a breathtaking cathedral-length bridal gown woven from pure white silk and hand-sewn pearls.
Ahead of me, Kaelen proudly carried Aurelia and Seraphina, who were dressed in adorable matching flower girl dresses, giggling and waving their tiny hands at the smiling congregation.
They were walking, laughing, and surrounded by the fierce love of an entire city.
When I reached the altar, Silas took my hands in his, his fingers warm, strong, and steady.
“You are my queen, Elena,” Silas whispered as we stood before the Bishop.
“Forever,” I replied, looking into the eyes of the man who had rewritten our destiny.
We exchanged our vows of eternal love, loyalty, and protection, the words echoing through the vaulted cathedral like an unbreakable covenant.
When the Bishop pronounced us husband and wife, Silas lifted my veil and kissed me with deep, sacred reverence.
The entire cathedral erupted into thunderous applause, the joyous cheers spilling out into the streets of Boston where thousands of citizens celebrated our union.
We walked down the cathedral steps into the crisp, sunlit afternoon, holding our beautiful twin daughters in our arms.
The flashing cameras of the global media captured our radiant family standing in triumph before the world.
The freezing sleet of that dark highway bridge was gone forever, buried beneath an avalanche of love, justice, and absolute victory.
