Part 7: The Confrontation at the Gates
Two days later, the reality of his ruin finally penetrated Grant's thick layer of denial. Desperate, furious, and increasingly disheveled, his expensive silk tie loosened and his eyes bloodshot, he bypassed his locked corporate office and drove his sports car straight to the ultra-luxury high-rise residential tower where Elena’s private penthouse was located.
He didn't even manage to clear the outer security perimeter.
Andre, Elena’s formidable head of executive protection, stepped out of the reinforced guardhouse. Two heavily armed private security officers stood at his flanks, their expressions completely unreadable.
"Let me through!" Grant shouted, slamming his palms against the hood of his idling vehicle. "Elena! Get down here right now! You can't do this to my family! We are married! We are having a child together!"
Andre did not move a single inch. His posture was like carved granite.
"Mr. Whitmore," Andre said, his voice dropping to a low, dangerous octave. "You are currently trespassing on private property owned exclusively by Aureum Dominion Holdings. A permanent restraining order was successfully served to your legal residence exactly one hour ago. If you do not step back into your vehicle and reverse past the gates immediately, you will be detained and arrested by federal marshals."
"She's my wife!" Grant screamed, his voice cracking as the terrifying realization of his sudden insignificance began to settle in his chest. "She's carrying my baby! She has to talk to me!"
"She is the Chairwoman," Andre corrected him coldly, his eyes locking onto Grant’s trembling form. "And you are currently a corporate liability and a personal security threat. Move your vehicle, or we will remove it for you."

As Grant looked up in desperation toward the towering glass penthouse, the heavy iron gates began to swing open, but not for him. A sleek, armored black Maybach pulled out of the secure subterranean garage. The heavily tinted rear window rolled down just a single fraction of an inch.
Elena’s calm, unbothered eyes met his panicked gaze for less than a second before the window rolled back up, and the car accelerated smoothly into the morning traffic, leaving him standing in the exhaust, completely powerless.
