Part 6: The Legal Siege
While the Whitmores panicked in their crumbling ivory tower, Elena sat in her sunlit penthouse, wrapped in a plush cream cashmere robe. The floor-to-ceiling windows offered a panoramic view of the city skyline—an empire she owned a staggering majority of. Dr. Keene had just completed another thorough examination, packing his medical equipment into a leather case. The baby’s heartbeat had been a steady, rhythmic, beautiful thrumming on the audio monitor.
"Perfect," Dr. Keene smiled, adjusting his glasses. "Your blood pressure has completely normalized, Elena. Whatever you are doing to clear the toxic elements from your life, keep doing it. The human body responds remarkably well to justice."
"I am just cleaning house, Doctor," Elena replied softly, her hand resting protectively over her stomach. "Making sure the environment is pristine for her arrival."
As the doctor left, Mara walked into the room, her iPad in hand, accompanied by a sharp-eyed woman in a tailored navy suit—Samantha Vance, the most feared family law attorney in the country.
"The legal machinery is fully operational," Samantha said, placing a thick stack of documents on the marble coffee table. "We have filed for an expedited divorce on the grounds of extreme emotional, financial, and physical cruelty. The high-definition audio and video from last night's dinner have been submitted as Exhibit A. The judge nearly wept when she watched Diane pour the water."
"And the ironclad prenuptial agreement Grant made me sign?" Elena asked, taking a slow sip of warm lemon water. "The one that stated I would leave with nothing but a suitcase?"
Samantha let out a cold, sharp laugh.

"That prenup was designed by their attorneys to strip you of dignity. But they made a fatal error born of sheer arrogance. Because Grant lied about his secondary offshore income sources on the mandatory financial disclosure forms—trying to hide money from you, ironically—the entire contract is legally void. Under state law, a fraudulent disclosure invalidates the agreement. You are now legally entitled to fifty percent of his personal wealth. We are freezing his bank accounts by the end of the business day."
Elena looked out at the sprawling city. "I don't want his money, Samantha. I want him to understand the exact market value of his arrogance."
