Chapter 11 - The Ghost in the Foyer

A collective gasp of absolute astonishment erupted from the high-society crowd as reporters swarmed forward, their flashbulbs blinding the grand entrance. Victoria’s face drained of every ounce of color, the gold fountain pen slipping from her paralyzed fingers and rolling off the stage.

"Sienna...?" Victoria stammered, her voice cracking before she quickly attempted to reassemble her aristocratic mask. "Security! Remove these intruders immediately! My daughter-in-law is having a violent paranoid delusion!"

The estate’s private security guards stepped forward, but the Federal Marshals instantly unholstered their service weapons, leveling them with lethal precision. "Federal officers! Stand down and keep your hands visible!" the Lead Marshal boomed across the ballroom.

Zachary walked up the center aisle, tossing a thick, blue-bound dossier onto the golden lectern directly in front of his adoptive mother. "The private security contractors you sent to assassinate us on the highway have already been arrested by the Illinois State Police, Mother."

Victoria took a trembling step backward, her manicured hands clutching her throat as she locked eyes with the son she thought she owned. "Zachary... you ungrateful little monster... after everything I gave you!"

"You gave me a stolen name, a fabricated childhood, and a murder contract," Zachary replied with cold, razor-sharp contempt. "You murdered my uncle David Vance, you stole my mother's identity, and you tried to slaughter my wife for a fortune that never belonged to you."

The whispers among the corporate board members turned into an uproar of shock and fury as the word murder echoed through the room. Victoria glared at me with pure, unadulterated venom, her eyes burning like a cornered viper's.

"You have no proof of these slanderous lies, Sienna!" Victoria hissed into the open microphone, her voice shrieking with manic desperation. "You are an unstable, hysterical girl trying to ruin a distinguished family name!"

I stepped onto the stage, holding up my father's original handwritten testament bearing the uncorrupted wax seal. "I don't just have proof, Victoria; I have your complete forensic confession playing on every broadcast network in the United States."
