Chapter 10 - The Eviction of the Parasites

At six o'clock that evening, a fleet of three county sheriff cruisers and two commercial moving vans pulled up to the gates of Julian’s Highland Park estate.

Inside the grand mansion, Vivienne’s mother, Beatrice, and her corrupt brother, Trevor, were frantically packing antique silverware and oil paintings into cardboard boxes.

They had moved into the estate the week after Julian’s funeral, treating the thirty-million-dollar property as their personal private resort.

The front doors swung open, and Sheriff Deputy Miller stepped into the grand foyer, holding an official writ of immediate eviction and asset seizure.

Behind the deputy walked Luca and four private security officers, carrying the certified sovereign deed to the property.

“What is the meaning of this disruption?” Beatrice shrieked, clutching an antique silver tea set against her silk blouse.

“My daughter is the mistress of this estate! You have no right to enter our private home!”

Deputy Miller stepped forward, flashing his gold badge and handing the eviction order to the trembling matriarch.

“Your daughter is currently in a federal holding cell on capital murder charges, Mrs. Cross,” Deputy Miller announced sternly.

“And under Section Twelve of the Texas Property Code, this estate has been restored to its rightful sovereign owner—Marcus Vance.”

Trevor dropped a heavy box of crystal champagne flutes, the glass shattering violently across the marble floor as he backed toward the kitchen.

“You can’t throw us out into the street! It’s freezing outside!” Trevor yelled in panicked outrage.

Luca stepped forward, towering over the arrogant brother with cold, lethal authority.

“You have exactly ten minutes to take your personal clothes and vacate this perimeter,” Luca growled.

“Or my men will throw you down the cellar stairs where you let those children starve for three months.”

Beatrice and Trevor turned pale as ghosts, realizing with terrifying finality that their borrowed life of stolen luxury had completely evaporated.

They grabbed two small suitcases, hurrying out through the front doors into the freezing sleet without another word.

They walked down the long, dark driveway on foot, stripped of their sports cars, their designer jewelry, and their stolen pride.

Luca watched them disappear into the stormy night before turning to his team.

“Change every lock, seal the perimeter gates, and prepare the demolition permits for the sub-basement,” Luca commanded.

“This house will never hold a dark room again.”
