Chapter 12 - The Arrests at the Plaza Hotel
While the boardroom celebrated the corporate restoration, federal tactical teams executed a secondary raid on the presidential suite of the Boston Plaza Hotel.
Lucian Moreau, the French corporate raider who had orchestrated the international patent theft, was frantically wiping his encrypted laptops.
His private security guards were already engaged in a tense standoff with twelve armed FBI marshals in the executive corridor.
Special Agent Marcus Reed breached the heavy suite doors with an industrial hydraulic ram, flooding the luxury suite with tactical operators.
“Lucian Moreau! Keep your hands on the desk and step away from the terminals!” Agent Reed commanded with his weapon raised.
Moreau reached for a concealed sidearm inside his leather briefcase, but a tactical officer fired a non-lethal beanbag round that struck his shoulder, knocking him to the floor.
The federal agents swarmed the fallen billionaire, pinning his arms behind his back and clicking heavy steel handcuffs around his wrists.
Agent Reed picked up the decrypted external drives containing the stolen propulsion data and the signed financial contracts with Blake and Seraphina.
“Lucian Moreau, under International Red Notice 9904, you are under arrest for corporate espionage, wire fraud, and conspiracy to commit capital murder,” Agent Reed declared.
Moreau snarled in fury, spitting blood onto the plush carpet as he was hauled to his feet.
“My government in Paris will never allow this extradition!” Moreau hissed with dying arrogance.
“Your government in Paris revoked your diplomatic passport two hours ago when Interpol raided your offices on the Champs-Élysées, Moreau,” Agent Reed replied coldly.
“You are being transferred directly to the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn to stand trial alongside your American partners.”
