Chapter 4 - The Public Truth

By evening, the first crack appeared.

Not in the house.

In their world.

Marvin’s phone started ringing nonstop.

He ignored it at first.

Then it kept ringing.

Again.

And again.

Finally, he answered.

“What?”

Silence.

Then his face changed.

“No,” he said.

“That’s not—”

He stopped.

Looked at me.

“What did you do?”

I didn’t answer.

Because I didn’t need to.

Camryn grabbed her own phone.

Her expression shifted instantly.

Shock.

Then anger.

Then something deeper.

Fear.

“What is this?” she demanded.

I walked to the table.

Picked up my phone.

And turned the screen toward them.

A private group chat.

Screenshots.

Audio clips.

Time stamps.

Everything.

Sent.

Not publicly.

But strategically.

To the right people.

People who mattered.

People who couldn’t ignore it.

“This isn’t revenge,” I said calmly.

“This is protection.”

Camryn’s hands trembled.

“You’ve ruined everything.”

“No,” I said.

“You built this.”

Marvin dropped into a chair.

“This can’t be happening.”

“It is.”

His voice broke.

“My boss saw this.”

“Yes.”

“My friends…”

“Yes.”

“My family…”

I paused.

“They’re finally seeing the truth.”

Camryn stepped forward.

“You think this is over?”

I met her eyes.

“No.”

“This is just the beginning.”

May you like

And for the first time…

She believed me.
