Chapter 1 - The Blood on the Marble Floor

The very first, incredibly vicious lash tore violently across my fragile back long before my mind could even fully comprehend that the man I married truly meant to physically destroy me. The twentieth, heavily agonizing strike left the pristine, imported white marble floor directly beneath my shaking, bruised knees heavily dotted with dark, incredibly terrifying droplets of my own warm blood.

The deeply horrifying, incredibly traumatic scene is perfectly, flawlessly captured in the exact file named image_3c03e6.jpg. I was violently forced down onto my bare knees on the expensive living room rug, wearing only my delicate, light blue silk pajamas. A massive, incredibly dark, and sickeningly purple bruise already violently marred the entire left side of my pale, tear-stained face from where his heavy hand had aggressively struck me moments before. I was completely, utterly weeping in absolute, unadulterated physical agony and sheer emotional terror.

Standing aggressively, terrifyingly directly over me was my husband, Adrian. His handsome, highly structured face was completely, entirely contorted into a deeply ugly, highly unhinged, and absolutely screaming mask of pure, violent rage. He had his arm aggressively raised high into the air, his large fist violently clenching a thick, heavy black leather belt that he was actively, ruthlessly using as a weapon of absolute torture against my fragile body.

Lounging incredibly comfortably, highly casually in the luxurious, expensive armchair just a few feet away was his incredibly toxic, highly manipulative mistress, Vanessa. She was flawlessly wearing a slinky, highly revealing black designer slip dress, completely resting her head against her manicured hand. She watched my horrific, deeply agonizing physical torture with a faint, completely sickening, and highly triumphant smile spread perfectly across her painted lips, looking exactly like an incredibly evil queen who had just successfully won a bloody crown.

“Look at her pathetic, miserable face,” Vanessa purred incredibly softly, her highly sharp, deeply venomous voice echoing loudly through the massive, high-ceilinged room. “Still desperately, highly pathetically pretending she is entirely innocent.”

Adrian stood entirely over my shaking body, his strong jaw completely tight, his incredibly dark eyes completely devoid of any basic human empathy or moral decency. He had absolutely always been incredibly beautiful in a highly dangerous, deeply corporate way—wearing meticulously tailored designer suits, maintaining perfectly styled hair, and possessing an incredibly smooth, highly manipulative voice that could effortlessly make wealthy investors deeply trust him and completely blind women entirely forgive his darkest sins. But tonight, standing in the massive, opulent grand hall of our expensive suburban estate, entirely under the massive crystal chandelier we had lovingly chosen completely together, he looked exactly like an entirely terrifying, highly malicious stranger violently wearing my supposed husband’s familiar face.

“You completely, entirely embarrassed Vanessa at the corporate dinner tonight,” he violently hissed, aggressively snapping the heavy leather belt threateningly in his large hand.

I painfully, completely agonizingly swallowed the deep, burning physical pain actively tearing through my bruised, heavily battered ribs. “She explicitly, highly maliciously told your entire corporate board of directors that I was entirely, permanently barren,” I whispered, my highly exhausted voice violently cracking under the massive strain of my tears.

Vanessa incredibly cruelly, highly maliciously laughed a soft, completely musical, and deeply toxic laugh. “I merely, completely innocently said that people were highly curious about your pathetic inability to provide an heir. That is entirely, completely different.”

“She explicitly, aggressively said I only married you for your massive money,” I whispered incredibly heavily, completely terrified.

Adrian’s mouth violently, completely aggressively twisted into a deeply cruel, highly condescending, and entirely mocking sneer. “Didn’t you, you pathetic, completely useless gold-digger?”

That single, incredibly cruel, highly fabricated accusation physically hurt me entirely, completely more than the twenty agonizing lashes of the heavy leather belt.

He aggressively, violently tossed a thick, highly official, completely devastating legal folder entirely directly beside my heavily bleeding, incredibly shaking right hand.

“I am completely, entirely, and absolutely done actively carrying dead, useless weight,” Adrian stated incredibly coldly, his highly arrogant voice completely devoid of a soul. “Sign the divorce papers immediately. Vanessa is completely, happily pregnant with my true heir.”

The massive, highly expensive hall went entirely, completely, and utterly dead silent. Vanessa proudly, highly smugly placed a perfectly manicured hand directly over her entirely flat, highly toned stomach and smiled incredibly wickedly.

My incredibly blurred, highly tear-filled vision completely, entirely cleared—absolutely not from the fading physical pain, but from an incredibly sudden, highly absolute, and entirely profound mental clarity. At long last, they had explicitly said entirely enough. They had absolutely done completely enough.

I slowly, incredibly painfully reached entirely for my cracked mobile phone with violently shaking, highly bloody fingers.

Adrian aggressively, highly loudly laughed a deep, completely mocking, and entirely arrogant laugh. “Are you actively calling the pathetic local police? Go right ahead. Tell them exactly how your incredibly powerful, highly wealthy executive husband physically disciplined his completely crazy, highly hysterical, and entirely useless wife.”

I slowly, incredibly bravely looked entirely directly up at his highly arrogant, completely cruel face and smiled incredibly fiercely directly through my split, heavily bleeding lips.

“No, Adrian,” I said incredibly quietly, completely devoid of fear. “I am calling my father.”

His highly mocking, incredibly arrogant laugh completely, instantly faltered. When my father answered the phone on the very first ring, I simply, completely quietly said, “Dad, just as you explicitly told me three years ago, completely, utterly, and entirely destroy his miserable life.”
