Chapter 11 - ELENA'S SECOND BETRAYAL

Dominic found his sister before midnight.

But the woman waiting inside the abandoned theater was not a hostage.

She was standing beside Sebastian.

Alive.

Unrestrained.

And holding a gun.

Julian stopped.

“Mom?”

Elena looked at him.

Her face broke.

“Julian.”

Dominic stared at his sister for the first time in eighteen years.

She was older.

Thinner.

Still unmistakably Elena.

“You’re alive.”

She looked at him.

“Dom.”

He laughed once.

A broken sound.

“You watched me bury you.”

“I had no choice.”

“You had eighteen years of choices.”

Sebastian stood near the stage.

“Well. Family reunions.”

Dominic raised his weapon.

“Elena, move away from him.”

She didn’t.

Norah felt the danger immediately.

“Elena?”

Her eyes shifted toward Norah.

“You look like your father.”

Norah swallowed.

“You knew him.”

“He saved me.”

“Then why are you standing beside the man who killed him?”

Elena closed her eyes.

“Because Sebastian has something I need.”

Julian stepped forward.

“What?”

Elena looked at him.

“Your real mother.”

Camille had raised Julian.

But Elena’s letter had said Camille was his mother.

Now Elena was saying otherwise.

Julian’s face went white.

“What?”

Elena pointed toward Sebastian.

“He lied about Camille.”

Sebastian smiled.

“Not my finest fabrication.”

Dominic’s jaw tightened.

“Who is Julian’s mother?”

Sebastian looked at Norah.

Then smiled.

“Her sister.”

Norah stopped breathing.

“I don’t have a sister.”

“You did.”

The theater went silent.

Sebastian continued.

“Thomas Hastings had another daughter.”

Norah shook her head.

“No.”

“Her name was Rachel.”

“My father would have told me.”

“He tried.”

Sebastian looked toward the hard drive in Norah’s hand.

“Rachel fell in love with Dominic when they were teenagers.”

Dominic frowned.

“I don’t remember any Rachel.”

“You knew her as Camille Arden.”

Everyone looked at Camille, who had entered behind them with Mateo.

Her face was pale.

Norah stared.

“You’re Rachel Hastings?”

Camille began to cry.

“Yes.”

Norah could not move.

Her father had another daughter.

Her sister had been standing in front of her for hours.

“Why?”

Rachel’s voice broke.

“To stay alive.”

Sebastian laughed.

“Thomas hid one daughter in plain sight and kept the other innocent.”

Norah looked at Julian.

That made Julian her nephew.

Dominic’s son.

Her family.

Elena raised the gun.

“Enough.”

Everyone froze.

She pointed it at Sebastian.

“Where are the originals?”

Sebastian smiled.

“You still think I kept them?”

“Tell me.”

“Your father burned them.”

Elena’s face changed.

“Liar.”

Sebastian’s smile widened.

“Ask Dominic.”

Dominic frowned.

“Ask me what?”

Sebastian looked at him.

“Who started the fire that killed your father?”

Dominic went still.

“That was an electrical fire.”

“No.”

Elena whispered.

“Dom…”

May you like

Sebastian finished the sentence.

“You did.”
